Section 1 of this course introduces you to Elli Milan’s Abstract Realism style, developed through decades of artistic practice. Get hands-on with her mixed media collage method, beginning with layering collage papers and textures. You’ll transition to painting with acrylics before finishing up with oil paints.

In Section 2, you’ll use water and inks to create a stunning painting with Dimitra Milan. She starts with tips on finding and creating source images so you’re empowered to paint anything you imagine. I have no experience with mixed media. Are these videos for me?
Yes! Our painting techniques are broken down into easy-to-follow steps. By the end of these three lessons, you’ll have a beautiful and unique painting.
I have been painting for years, are these classes too basic?
These classes are taught by globally recognized artists and are technique-driven. The methods are unique and innovative, but also derived from classical training from the old masters. Elli and Dimitra teach a revolutionary color theory process with color temperature to give you greater depth in your paintings than you’ve experienced ever before.
What supplies will I need?
- Acrylic inks
- Soft small, medium, & large brushes
- Drawing materials (graphite, acrylic markers, permanent markers)
- Canvas
- Various collage papers like newspaper or other decorative papers
- Gloss gel, modeling paste
- Various acrylic colors: opaque & transparent
- Variety of oil paints: opaque & transparent
- Glazing medium (Galkyd or Liquin)
- Thinner for cleaning oil brushes

What do I do if I don’t have enough art supplies?
You may not need every supply listed, but they’re commonly found at art supply stores. You can also purchase complete kits curated by Elli and Dimitra directly from the Milan Art store.
